EP 14 - What Are We Really Feeding Our Families?

In this episode, we ask a question that might make some people uncomfortable. If you love your children, what did they eat today? Not what you planned. Not what you intended. What did they actually eat? We talk about the comforting lie of convenience foods. A lot of Nigerian homes are not feeding their children to be healthy. They are feeding them convenience. And I understand why. You are tired. You have work. Been in traffic all day. You have bills. So that packet of noodles looks like a lifesaver. The biscuits are quick and easy. The juice box says vitamin C on the front. But here is what is also true. We are teaching our children's bodies what to crave. Every single day, with every single thing we put on their plate, we are training them. And right now, a lot of us are training them to crave things that are slowly doing damage. We do a food audit. Think about what your child ate today or yesterday or this week. Was it instant noodles? Biscuits at breakfast because there was no time? A juice box that said natural on the label? Fried meat from the road? Sweets to keep them quiet in the car? I'm not listing these to embarrass anyone. I'm listing them because most of us would recognize at least two or three things on that list. That is not a character flaw. That is exhaustion meeting a food industry that has made harmful things very convenient. #NigerianFamilies #ChildrensNutrition #HealthyEatingNigeria #WhatWeFeedOurChildren #ParentingNigeria #FeedingFamilies #MensHealth #DiabetesPrevention #SmallChanges #FoodAndMood #LocalFoodNigeria #VoiceInTheRoom
